DeLOCK 8,90 cm (3.5) ulkoinen kotelo SATA HDD - USB3.0 - tallennuskotelo - 8,9 cm (3.5) - S-ATA2 - 300MBps - SuperSpeed USB (42478)

The DeLOCK 42478 aluminium enclosure supports one 3.5" SATA hard drive and connects to a PC or notebook via USB 3.0. Designed for 3.5" SATA I or SATA II HDDs, the grey enclosure provides a simple external housing that enables bootable operation and straightforward data access.

Advantages

The aluminium housing offers durable protection and passive heat dissipation for a single 3.5" Serial ATA drive. USB 3.0 connectivity provides data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps with backward compatibility to USB 2.0. Installation is tool-friendly and the enclosure supports booting from the installed drive when the host system allows it.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

• External backup and archival of large-capacity 3.5" SATA HDDs
• Expanding storage for PCs and notebooks with USB 3.0 ports
• Data migration and drive cloning
• Using an internal 3.5" HDD as an external, bootable drive

Key specifications

• Supported drive: 1 × 3.5" SATA (SATA I/II)
• Interface to host: USB 3.0 (up to 5 Gbps), backward compatible with USB 2.0
• Material: Aluminium
• Colour: Grey
• Bootable: Yes (depends on host system)

How to use

Open the aluminium enclosure, insert a compatible 3.5" SATA HDD and secure it according to the enclosure design. Close the enclosure and connect it to a PC or notebook using a USB 3.0 cable. The host system should recognise the drive automatically; if necessary, initialize or assign a drive letter in the operating system. To achieve maximum transfer rates, connect to a USB 3.0 port on the host.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use a USB 3.0 port and a good-quality cable. Ensure the installed HDD is supported (3.5" SATA I/II). Allow airflow around the aluminium enclosure to assist passive cooling and avoid placing it on heat-retaining surfaces during extended heavy use.
