Kuitukaapeli Alcasa 10m SC/ST

The Alcasa 10m SC/ST fibre optic cable is an OM4 multimode cable with a 50 µm core diameter designed for high-speed, full-duplex data transmission. It connects devices with SC and ST connectors, providing a stable optical link for short- to medium-range network applications. The cable is intended for use where low attenuation and controlled modal dispersion are required, enabling reliable performance in structured cabling, server rooms and network equipment interconnections.

Advantages

This OM4 fibre optic cable offers higher bandwidth and lower modal dispersion compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, supporting higher data rates and longer effective distances within multimode standards. Full-duplex support allows simultaneous bidirectional communication. The combination of SC and ST connector types provides compatibility with legacy and modern equipment, simplifying integration. The 10 m length balances flexibility and reach for rack-to-rack and equipment-to-equipment links while maintaining optical performance.

Suitable for

• Server room and data centre interconnects
• Switch-to-switch and switch-to-patch panel connections
• Network equipment requiring SC or ST terminations
• High-bandwidth multimode applications and short to medium distance links

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM4 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector types: SC to ST
• Length: 10 m
• Transmission mode: Full duplex
• Typical use: Multimode optical links for LAN and data centre environments

How to use

Inspect connector endfaces for cleanliness before installation and clean if necessary using appropriate fibre cleaning tools. Insert the SC connector into the SC port and the ST connector into the ST port until they lock in place; ensure proper alignment to avoid damage to endfaces. Route the cable with gentle bends, avoiding sharp kinks and maintaining the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius. For best signal performance, keep connectors dust-free and secure cable runs to prevent strain on terminations.

Recommendations

Use this OM4 SC/ST cable for short to medium multimode links where higher bandwidth and lower dispersion are required. Maintain clean connectors, follow bend-radius guidelines, and avoid excessive pulling force during installation. For critical or long-distance links consider verifying insertion loss and return loss using appropriate testing equipment.
