Hallittava kytkin HPE Aruba 2930M 24 Smart Rate PoE Class 6

The HPE Aruba 2930M 24 Smart Rate PoE Class 6 (R0M68A) is a managed Layer 3 access switch with 24 Gigabit PoE+ ports in a 1U rack-mountable form factor. It delivers a switching capacity of 320 Gbit/s, a MAC address table of 32768 entries and support for modular 10GbE/40GbE uplinks, HPE Smart Rate multi-gigabit ports and up to 740W internal PoE+ power (scalable to 1440W with optional modules). The switch is designed for enterprise edge, SMB and branch office deployments and integrates with Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager, Aruba AirWave and cloud-based Aruba Central for centralized management and Zero Touch Provisioning.

Advantages

The Aruba 2930M combines Layer 3 routing capabilities (static, RIP and Access OSPF) with robust security and QoS features, simplified deployment and stackable modular design. It supports rapid scaling via 10-chassis stacking, modular SFP+/QSFP+ uplinks and HPE Smart Rate for high-speed access points over existing cabling. Integrated management options include on-premise AirWave, ClearPass for unified wired/wireless policy, and Aruba Central for cloud provisioning, while no additional software license is required for core functionality.

Suitable for

• Enterprise edge switches for campuses and branch offices
• Small and medium business networks requiring PoE+ for APs, phones and cameras
• Environments needing unified wired/wireless policy management and SDN support

How to use

Mount the switch in a standard 19-inch rack and connect the uplink modules or SFP/SFP+ transceivers as required. Attach access devices (APs, IP phones, cameras) to the Gigabit PoE+ ports; configure VLANs, QoS and routing (static, RIP or Access OSPF) via the web GUI, CLI or using Aruba AirWave/Central for centralized management. For unified policy and authentication, integrate with Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager and enable Zero Touch Provisioning in Aruba Central to simplify initial deployment. Use stacking to join up to 10 chassis for simplified management and redundancy.

Recommendations

For optimal performance in mixed wired/wireless environments, enable HPE Smart Rate for multi-gigabit APs where supported, allocate sufficient PoE budget for high-power devices, and use modular uplinks (10GbE/40GbE) when aggregating uplink traffic. Regularly update firmware through Aruba Central or AirWave and apply ClearPass policies to maintain consistent security and access controls across wired and wireless users.
