Hallittava kytkin PLANET GS-4210-8UP2S 8-porttinen Gigabit Ethernet PoE

PLANET GS-4210-8UP2S is a 1U rack-mountable managed Gigabit switch with 8 10/100/1000BASE-T ports and 2 100/1000BASE-X SFP slots. It supports IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ with up to 95 W per PoE port and a total PoE budget of up to 180 W. The switch provides IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack management, L2/L4 switching features, a MAC address table of 8000 entries and a switching capacity suitable for small businesses and enterprise edge deployments.

Advantages

The GS-4210-8UP2S combines high-power 802.3bt PoE++ delivery with managed L2/L4 features and cybersecurity mechanisms such as SSHv2 and TLS 1.2. It includes redundant ring support (ITU-T G.8032 ERPS), MSTP, robust QoS and comprehensive ACLs for access control. Built-in PoE management functions—PD alive check, scheduled power recycling, PoE scheduling, usage monitoring and PoE extension mode—help maintain device availability and reduce onsite maintenance. Two SFP uplinks with SFP-DDM extend fiber reach for backbone connection.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

• PoE PTZ and high-power surveillance cameras
• Wireless access points and PoE thin clients
• All-in-one touch PCs and remote digital signage
• Small office and enterprise edge switches with remote management

How to use

Install the GS-4210-8UP2S in a standard 1U rack space and connect uplink fiber modules into the SFP slots if required. Plug PoE devices into the RJ-45 ports; configure PoE parameters, schedules and PD alive check from the web interface or CLI. Use SNMP or PLANET UNI-NMS / CloudViewer apps for remote monitoring and management. Configure VLANs, link aggregation, QoS and security policies according to network design to ensure proper segmentation and traffic prioritization.

Recommendations

For deployments with long cable runs, enable the "Extend" mode on specific ports to provide up to 50 W PoE at 10 Mbps over distances up to 250 m. Schedule PoE off-times for non-business hours to save energy and disable unused ports to improve security. Monitor PoE consumption via the web interface and use SFP-DDM data to verify fiber link health.
