Hama 00205178 kaapeliadapteri ODT Toslink 3,5 mm musta

The Hama 00205178 Cable Gender Changer ODT Toslink 3.5mm Black adapts an ODT Toslink optical connection to a 3.5mm mini‑Toslink socket, allowing devices with different digital audio connectors to be linked. The adapter features gold‑plated contacts and a compact black housing designed for a low‑profile connection between audio sources and receivers while maintaining optical signal integrity.

Advantages

This gender changer provides a straightforward physical adaptation between an ODT Toslink plug and a 3.5mm mini‑Toslink jack without the need for active conversion. Gold‑plated contacts improve contact reliability and corrosion resistance. The compact form factor makes it suitable for tight spaces and portable setups while the optical transmission preserves digital audio quality and reduces electrical interference.

Suitable for

• Connecting optical audio outputs on TVs or set‑top boxes to devices with 3.5mm mini‑Toslink inputs
• Linking soundbars, DACs or headphone amplifiers that use mini‑Toslink sockets
• Temporary or permanent installations where space is limited and a low‑profile adapter is required

Key specifications

• Connector 1: ODT Toslink (optical plug)
• Connector 2: 3.5mm mini‑Toslink (optical jack)
• Contacts: gold‑plated for improved corrosion resistance
• Colour: black
• Function: passive optical gender changer/adaptor

How to use

Align the ODT Toslink plug of the adapter with the optical socket on the source device and insert until it clicks or seats securely. Connect the 3.5mm mini‑Toslink plug or cable to the adapter’s 3.5mm end. Ensure both devices are powered off when connecting or disconnecting to avoid potential signal interruption. Once connected, select the appropriate digital audio output on your source device and configure the receiving device to accept optical input.

Recommendations

Use the adapter for passive mechanical adaptation only; it does not perform digital format conversion. Keep the optical ports covered when not in use to protect the optical interfaces from dust. For best performance, avoid sharp bends in connected optical cables and ensure firm, but gentle, insertion to prevent damage to the optical ferrules.
