Helos kuitu-kaapeli 3 m OM3 LC/ST

The Helos 3m OM3 LC/ST fibre optic cable delivers multimode connectivity with a 50 µm core diameter and a 3 metre length. Designed for full duplex communication, this patch cable connects LC and ST terminations to support high-speed data transmission in structured cabling systems. The OM3 multimode rating is intended for short- to mid-range links and is compatible with laser-optimized equipment used in enterprise and data centre environments as well as in residential installations that require reliable fiber links.

Advantages

This LC to ST fibre optic cable provides stable signal quality with low insertion loss and return loss suitable for high-bandwidth applications. The OM3 specification supports higher modal bandwidth compared with standard multimode fibres, enabling effective use with 10 Gigabit Ethernet over appropriate distances. The 3 metre length offers flexibility for rack-to-equipment connections or cross-connects while keeping excess cable manageable. The combination of LC and ST connectors makes the cable versatile for connecting devices with different port types without adapters.

Suitable for

• Connecting network switches, transceivers and patch panels in data centres and server rooms
• Short to medium distance multimode links in enterprise LANs
• Linking legacy ST-based equipment to modern LC ports
• High-speed multimedia and AV distribution within buildings

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM3 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Length: 3 m
• Connector A: LC (plug)
• Connector B: ST (plug)
• Mode: Multimode, full duplex
• Typical use: Patch cable for indoor structured cabling

How to use

Route the Helos OM3 LC/ST cable between LC and ST ports ensuring connectors are free from dust before making connections. Align the LC connector with the LC receptacle and insert until it latches; insert the ST connector into the ST socket and twist as required for secure engagement. Avoid tight bends and sharp kinks along the cable route; maintain recommended bend radius for multimode fibre to prevent increased attenuation. For best performance, keep fibre endfaces clean using appropriate cleaning tools and inspect ferrules visually or with a fibre inspection scope when necessary.

Recommendations

Use this OM3 multimode cable for indoor applications and patching within racks or between adjacent equipment racks. For longer-distance or single-mode requirements choose an appropriate single-mode fibre cable. Store unused cables coiled loosely and protect connector endfaces with dust caps when not connected.
