Helos kuitu-kaapeli 3 m OM4 SC/ST

The Helos 3m OM4 SC/ST fibre optic cable provides a 3-metre multimode link with a 50 µm core diameter designed for full-duplex data transmission. Equipped with an SC connector on one end and a dual ST connector on the other, this cable supports high-bandwidth connections over short to medium distances and is intended for structured cabling in data centres, server rooms and enterprise networks. The OM4 glass specification offers improved modal bandwidth compared with earlier multimode grades, enabling reliable signal integrity for modern networking equipment.

Advantages

This fibre cable combines OM4 multimode performance with a 3 m length and mixed SC/ST terminations to simplify connections between devices with different connector types. The 50 µm core supports higher data rates and extended reach compared with OM2/OM3 in multimode deployments. Full duplex capability ensures simultaneous bidirectional data flow, while industry-standard SC and ST connectors provide stable mechanical mating and low insertion loss when properly installed.

Suitable for

• Interconnecting switches, routers and transceivers in data centres
• Patch panels and fibre distribution frames in enterprise networks
• High-bandwidth links for storage area networks and server uplinks
• Multimode optical test setups and lab environments

Key specifications

• Length: 3 metres
• Mode: Multimode (OM4)
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connectors: SC (single) to dual ST
• Transmission: Full duplex
• Typical use: Short to medium multi‑device links

How to use

Route the cable avoiding tight bends and sharp edges; maintain the minimum bend radius recommended for multimode fibre to preserve optical performance. Clean connector endfaces before mating using appropriate fibre cleaning tools to minimise insertion loss and back reflections. Plug the SC connector into the SC port and align the dual ST connectors with the corresponding ST ports, ensuring each connector latches securely. Verify link status and signal levels with network equipment or an optical tester after installation.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, keep multimode link lengths within the OM4 reach guidelines for the data rates in use, use compatible transceivers designed for OM4 multimode fibre, and perform regular inspection and cleaning of connector endfaces. Avoid bundling with high-voltage power cables and protect cable routes from physical stress to maintain long-term reliability.
