Hiomalaikka 3M Cubitron II 967A 125 mm x 22 mm K80

The 3M Cubitron II 967A abrasive flap disc, 125 mm diameter with a 22 mm bore and K80 grit, is engineered for use with angle grinders to grind, deburr and remove welds from metal surfaces. Cubitron II ceramic abrasive grains are arranged in a precise triangular pattern that promotes faster cutting, consistent stock removal and longer disc life compared with conventional abrasives. This flap disc is intended for professional metalworking and fabrication environments where efficient material removal and dependable surface preparation are required.

Advantages

The Cubitron II abrasive system reduces heat buildup and increases cutting speed, delivering more aggressive material removal while maintaining control and predictable wear. The overlapping abrasive flaps conform to workpiece contours for more uniform finishing and extended usable life. The 125 mm diameter and 22 mm bore are compatible with common angle grinder setups, allowing straightforward mounting and stable performance during continuous use.

How to use

Securely mount the flap disc on an angle grinder with a matching 22 mm arbor, following the tool manufacturer’s instructions for wheel installation and tightening. Start grinding at low to moderate pressure, maintaining a consistent angle and motion to avoid gouging the work surface. Allow the abrasive action of the Cubitron II grains to do the cutting rather than forcing the disc; apply steady, controlled passes until the desired material removal or surface finish is achieved. Replace the disc when cutting efficiency noticeably decreases or when the disc shows significant wear.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection, hearing protection and gloves. For best results on stainless steel and high-alloy materials, use controlled, intermittent passes to minimise heat transfer and discoloration. Store discs in a dry environment away from extreme temperatures and moisture to preserve performance and bonding integrity.
