Hiomapaperi Bosch X440 Best for Wood and Paint 2608606085240 240 karkeus

Bosch X440 Best for Wood and Paint sanding sheet (240 grit) is designed for efficient material removal and fine finishing on wooden and painted surfaces. The semi-friable aluminium oxide abrasive provides high-performance sanding while the robust x-cloth backing and high-quality belt joint ensure strength and durability during extended use. An electrostatic open-coated surface aids consistent dust removal to maintain sanding efficiency. The sheet is intended for smoothing feather edges, flush-sanding rebates and edges, and general sanding of coated and wooden surfaces; it is compatible with belt sanders and uses a fully synthetic resin bond for enhanced wear resistance in demanding applications.

Advantages

The aluminium oxide grain offers strong cutting performance while the semi-friable structure helps maintain a sharp abrasive surface. The x-cloth backing and reinforced belt joint provide mechanical strength for long runs, and the electrostatic open coat reduces clogging and improves dust extraction. The 240 grit delivers a fine finish suitable for final sanding and smoothing of surfaces before painting or varnishing.

Suitable for

• Sanding painted surfaces to remove old paint and smooth the substrate
• Sanding and smoothing wooden surfaces and feathered edges
• Flush sanding rebates, edges and detail areas
• Use with belt sanders for continuous sanding tasks

How to use

Attach the sanding sheet to a compatible belt sander according to the tool manufacturer's instructions, ensuring the belt joint is correctly positioned and tensioned. Start sanding with steady, even strokes, applying moderate pressure and allowing the abrasive to do the work. For painted surfaces, begin with a test area to verify finish and adjust technique as needed. Maintain dust extraction where possible to preserve visibility and prolong abrasive life.

Recommendations

Use the 240-grit X440 sheet for final sanding and smoothing before painting or varnishing; avoid excessive pressure to prevent premature wear and ensure consistent surface quality. Combine with appropriate dust extraction and personal protective equipment (dust mask, eye protection) when sanding coated or wooden materials.
