Hiomapaperit Bosch X440 Best for Wood and Paint

The Bosch X440 Best for Wood and Paint sanding sheets are designed for efficient material removal on painted and wooden surfaces. Each sheet features a semi-friable aluminium oxide abrasive grain bonded with a fully synthetic resin for wear resistance in heavy-duty applications. The backing is a robust x-cloth with a high-quality joint that ensures strength during extended use, and the electrostatic open-coated grit supports consistent dust removal for continuous sanding. This pack contains 3 sheets compatible with belt sanders and is suitable for smoothing feather edges, flush sanding rebates and edges, and preparing old paint, varnish or wood for refinishing.

Advantages

The semi-friable aluminium oxide grain delivers high-performance sanding and controlled breakdown to reveal fresh abrasive for long life. The synthetic resin bond increases durability under heavy loads, while the x-cloth backing and quality belt joint provide mechanical strength for extensive work. The electrostatic open coating reduces clogging and improves dust extraction, maintaining consistent sanding results.

How to use

Select a sheet compatible with your belt sander and attach it according to the sander manufacturer's instructions. Start sanding at moderate pressure and move the sander evenly across the surface to avoid gouging. For painted or varnished surfaces, work progressively from coarser to finer grit if needed to achieve a smooth finish. Replace sheets when abrasive performance decreases or clogging impairs sanding.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment (eye protection, dust mask and hearing protection) and ensure good dust extraction when sanding. Test on a small area before full treatment to confirm the chosen grit and technique are suitable for the surface.
