Kaapelinsplitteri Extralink Splitter 1:2 FBT SC/UPC 5:95, 900 µm, 1 m

Extralink Splitter 1:2 FBT SC/UPC 5:95 is a passive fiber optic cable splitter designed for splitting a single optical signal into two outputs with an asymmetric 5:95 power ratio. Housed in a compact PVC-covered steel tube and terminated with SC/UPC connectors, the unit uses 900 µm pigtail cable and a total cable length of 1 m. This splitter is intended for FTTH, LAN and small optical distribution installations where a simple, space-saving 1:2 FBT split is required.

Advantages

The passive FBT design provides stable optical division without requiring power, and the 5:95 split ratio allows distribution where one branch needs most of the signal power while a second branch receives a small tapped portion. The 0.9 mm pigtail cable and compact steel tube housing allow neat routing and mounting inside fiber organizers or small enclosures. SC/UPC connectors on both input and outputs ensure straightforward plug-and-play connection to standard optical equipment.

Suitable for

• FTTH installations requiring asymmetric 1:2 splitting
• Small LAN and local optical distribution systems
• Signal tapping where a low-loss main path and a small secondary tap are needed
• Integration into compact fiber organizers and couplers

Key specifications

• Split ratio: 5:95 (asymmetrical, 1:2)
• Splitter technology: Fused Biconical Taper (FBT)
• Connectors: SC/UPC on input and outputs
• Cable diameter: 900 µm (0.9 mm) pigtail
• Cable length: 1 m
• Housing: steel tube with PVC coating
• Colour: blue and white

How to use

Connect the input SC/UPC connector of the Extralink Splitter to the fiber feed coming from the distribution or server side and connect the two SC/UPC output connectors to the downstream devices or patch panel ports. Route the 0.9 mm pigtail carefully through cable organizers or management channels to avoid sharp bends. Ensure connectors are clean before mating to minimize insertion loss and maintain signal quality.

Recommendations

Use in dry, indoor environments and avoid exposure to mechanical stress or tensile loads on the pigtail cable. Clean connectors with appropriate fiber cleaning tools before installation and secure the steel tube housing inside an enclosure or organizer to prevent movement. Select this asymmetrical 5:95 splitter when one output must preserve most of the optical power while a second output requires only a small tapped signal.
