Kuitu-kaapeli ShiverPeaks 2 m ST/ST

The ShiverPeaks Fibre Optic Cable ShiverPeaks 2m ST/ST is a 2-metre multimode OM2 patch cable with ST connectors on both ends and a 50 µm core diameter. Designed for full duplex communication, this fibre optic cable supports high-speed data transfer between network devices and is suitable for structured cabling in LANs, server rooms and industrial environments where multimode transmission is required.

Advantages

This OM2 cable provides stable optical performance with a 50 µm core that supports short-to-medium distance multimode links. ST/ST connector ends ensure straightforward bayonet-style insertion and reliable mechanical connection. The 2 m length offers flexibility for rack-to-rack or rack-to-equipment connections without excessive slack, and the cable construction prioritises signal integrity and durability for frequent handling and reconfiguration.

Suitable for

• Short- to medium-range multimode network links in local area networks (LANs)
• Connections between switches, patch panels and optical transceivers in server rooms
• Industrial or campus backbone segments where OM2 multimode fibre is specified
• Full duplex optical links requiring ST connector interfaces

Key specifications

• Length: 2 metres
• Fibre type: Multimode OM2
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: ST on both ends (ST/ST)
• Transmission mode: Full duplex

How to use

Before installation, inspect connector endfaces for dust or contamination and clean if necessary using appropriate fibre cleaning tools. Align the ST connector with the equipment port and insert the connector, then twist the bayonet sleeve until it locks in place to ensure a secure connection. Use strain relief at both ends where required and avoid tight bends near the cable terminations; maintain the manufacturer’s recommended minimum bend radius for multimode fibre. For permanent installations, route the cable through cable management panels or trays to protect it from mechanical stress.

Recommendations

Use this OM2 ST/ST fibre cable for intra-building links and equipment interconnects up to the effective distance supported by OM2 multimode fibre. Keep connector endfaces clean, store spare cables in protective reels or bags, and avoid exposing the cable to sharp bends, crushing forces or excessive tension to preserve optical performance.
