Kuitukaapeli EFB Elektronik O0323.5OM5 5 m 2x SC 2x LC vihreä

The EFB Elektronik O0323.5OM5 is a 5 m OM5 multimode fibre optic cable with two SC and two LC connectors in a green jacket. Designed for full duplex connections, the cable uses a 50 µm core multimode fibre to carry high-bandwidth signals with reduced modal dispersion. This cable is suitable for structured cabling in data centres and network installations where short to medium reach multimode links are required.

Advantages

The OM5 multimode fibre core diameter of 50 µm enables support for high-speed multimode transmission and improved performance over legacy MMF types in the short to medium reach range. The combination of SC and LC connectors provides flexibility for interfacing with equipment that uses either connector type. The 5 m length offers a balance between reach and cable management in rack and cabinet environments. The green outer jacket identifies the OM5 standard and assists in quick visual identification during maintenance.

Suitable for

• Short to medium-reach multimode links in data centres
• High-bandwidth intra-building backbone connections
• Patch panel to switch or transceiver patching where mixed SC and LC interfaces exist
• Full duplex fibre connections for networking equipment

Key specifications

• Cable type: OM5 multimode fibre
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Length: 5 m
• Connectors: 2x SC and 2x LC (duplex)
• Jacket colour: green (OM5 identification)
• Transmission: full duplex multimode

How to use

Inspect connector endfaces before installation and clean if necessary using appropriate fibre cleaning tools. Route the cable avoiding tight bends and excessive tensile stress in accordance with manufacturer bend-radius recommendations for multimode fibre. Terminate each duplex connector pair to the corresponding device ports, ensuring SC to SC and LC to LC mating where applicable, and verify that polarity and duplex orientation are correct for full duplex operation. After installation, test the link using suitable fibre testers or transceiver diagnostics to confirm signal integrity.

Recommendations

Use this OM5 cable for short to medium reach multimode applications in controlled indoor environments such as data centres and network rooms. Store and handle the cable to avoid contamination of connector endfaces and prevent tight bends; label both ends to simplify maintenance and verification.
