Kuitukaapeli Helos 1 m OM3 ST

The Helos 1m OM3 ST fibre optic cable is a 1-metre duplex patch cord designed for high-bandwidth network links. It uses OM3 multimode fibre with a 50 µm core diameter and ST connectors on both ends to provide reliable, low-loss optical connections between networking equipment. The cable is suitable for short- to medium-range transmissions in data centres, server rooms and structured cabling systems where compatibility with multimode transceivers and legacy ST ports is required.

Advantages

The OM3 multimode fibre supports elevated bandwidth for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and is optimized for laser-based transmitters, delivering low modal dispersion and consistent signal integrity over the intended range. ST connectors offer a bayonet-style coupling that provides secure mechanical connection and straightforward insertion and removal. The duplex configuration enables full-duplex communication over two fibres, simplifying installation for duplex transceivers and patch panels.

Suitable for

• 10 Gigabit Ethernet links within data centres and server racks
• Patch panels and multimode fibre transceiver connections
• Telecommunications rooms and structured cabling backbones
• Equipment migration where ST connector compatibility is required

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM3 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: ST to ST, duplex
• Length: 1 metre
• Configuration: Duplex (two fibres)
• Optimised for: Laser-based (VCSEL) transmitters and high-speed multimode links

How to use

Before installation, inspect connector endfaces for cleanliness and remove dust with appropriate fibre cleaning tools if necessary. Align each ST connector with the device or patch panel ST receptacle and press while twisting the bayonet coupling until it locks. Use one fibre for transmit and the other for receive according to transceiver or patch-panel labeling to ensure correct duplex operation. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and secure it with cable management accessories to prevent strain on the connectors.

Recommendations

Store and handle the OM3 fibre cable in a dry environment and avoid bending the cable beyond manufacturer-recommended minimum bend radius. Regularly clean connector endfaces and verify link performance after installation using appropriate optical test equipment when used for critical network segments.
