Kuitukaapeli Helos 20 m OM4 SC/SC

The Helos 20m OM4 SC/SC fibre optic cable is a multimode duplex patch cable with a 50 µm core diameter designed for high-speed data transmission over a 20 metre run. It uses OM4 graded fibre to support elevated bandwidth and reduced modal dispersion compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, and SC connectors on both ends provide a push-pull coupling with reliable alignment and low insertion loss. The cable is suitable for structured cabling in data centres, server rooms and network closets where predictable multimode performance and full-duplex links are required.

Advantages

The OM4 glass construction delivers improved bandwidth-distance performance for 850 nm applications, enabling higher data rates and longer reach compared with OM3 and standard multimode types. SC/SC terminations offer robust, easy-to-handle connections with low back reflection and stable mechanical alignment. A 20 metre length provides flexibility for common rack-to-rack or equipment-to-equipment connections without additional splicing or patching, and the duplex arrangement supports simultaneous transmission and reception on a single cable assembly.

Suitable for

• Data centre patching and equipment interconnects
• High-performance computing clusters and storage area networks (SAN)
• Enterprise network backbone segments and horizontal runs
• Optical transceiver connections requiring SC interfaces

Key specifications

• Fibre type: Multimode OM4
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: SC to SC, duplex
• Length: 20 metres
• Mode: Full duplex
• Typical applications: 850 nm VCSEL-based links, multimode transceivers

How to use

Install the Helos 20m OM4 SC/SC cable by inserting each SC connector into the corresponding SC adapter or transceiver port until the latch engages. Ensure that the transmit (TX) and receive (RX) channels are correctly paired at both ends to maintain proper full-duplex communication. Route the cable along cable management trays or through containment to avoid sharp bends; maintain the minimum bend radius specified for multimode patch cables. Before deployment, inspect connector endfaces for contamination and clean with appropriate fibre cleaning tools if necessary to avoid increased loss or connection issues.

Recommendations

Use this OM4 duplex cable for short- to medium-distance multimode links where 850 nm transceivers are used. Keep connectors capped when not in use, avoid excessive pulling force on the cable, and store the cable coiled without tight loops to preserve fibre performance and mechanical integrity.
