Kuitukaapeli Helos 5 m OM3 LC/SC

The Helos 5m OM3 LC/SC fibre optic cable is a 5-metre duplex patch cable with a 50 µm multimode core designed for high-speed data transmission. Built to support OM3 performance, this LC to SC terminated cable accommodates full duplex communication and is suitable for 10 Gb/s Ethernet and other high-bandwidth applications in structured cabling environments. The cable combines standardized multimode optical characteristics with industry-compatible LC and SC connectors to provide stable links between switches, servers and active equipment in data centres and enterprise networks.

Advantages

This OM3 fibre optic cable provides predictable attenuation and modal bandwidth for reliable short- to medium-range links. The LC connector ensures a compact, high-density connection while the SC connector offers secure push-pull mating for equipment with SC ports. The duplex configuration allows simultaneous transmit and receive paths for full duplex operation. Its 5 metre length offers flexibility for rack-to-rack or cabinet-to-equipment connections without excessive slack.

Suitable for

• 10 Gb/s Ethernet links within data centres and server rooms
• Patch panels and rack-mounted switch interconnects
• Multimode backbone runs and short-range fibre links
• Connections between transceivers and optical equipment with LC and SC ports

Key specifications

• Core diameter: 50 µm (multimode)
• OM3 performance class suitable for 10 Gb/s applications
• Length: 5 m
• Connector type: LC (one end) to SC (other end), duplex
• Mode: Multimode, duplex full duplex communication
• Typical use: Short to medium-range high-bandwidth links

How to use

Route the Helos 5m OM3 LC/SC cable between the intended LC and SC ports, taking care to maintain bend radii recommended for multimode fibre to avoid microbending losses. Insert the LC connector into the LC receptacle and the SC connector into the SC adapter or device port until each connector clicks or seats securely. For duplex operation ensure transmit and receive pairs are correctly oriented; many patch panels and transceivers are keyed or colour-coded to assist correct alignment. Avoid touching the connector endfaces and, if necessary, clean them with a fibre-optic approved cleaning tool before connection.

Recommendations

Use this OM3 multimode cable for short- to medium-range high-bandwidth links where 10 Gb/s performance is required. Store and handle the cable to avoid tight bends and excessive tensile stress. Clean connector endfaces before installation and route the cable away from high-interference electrical equipment to maintain optimal signal integrity.
