Kuitukaapeli Helos 7,5 m OM3 SC/SC

The Helos 7.5m OM3 SC/SC fibre optic cable is built to support high-speed data transmission in structured cabling environments. It uses OM3 multimode fibre with a 50 µm core diameter and SC connectors on both ends configured for full duplex operation. At 7.5 metres length, the cable provides a flexible reach for connecting switches, servers and active network equipment in data centres, server rooms and office racks while preserving signal integrity for short to medium distance links.

Advantages

The OM3 multimode fibre construction offers higher bandwidth and improved modal bandwidth compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, enabling reliable performance for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and other high-speed protocols over multimode links. SC connectors provide a push-pull coupling mechanism that is simple to install and maintain, while the duplex SC/SC configuration ensures correct polarity and straightforward mating with standard duplex ports. The 7.5 m length balances reach and manageability, reducing the need for patch panels or additional extension cables in typical rack-to-rack connections.

Suitable for

• Data centre horizontal and rack-to-rack interconnects
• Server-to-switch connections in enterprise networks
• High-speed multimode links such as 10 GBASE-SR
• Patch cabling in telecommunications rooms and wiring closets

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM3 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: duplex SC to duplex SC
• Configuration: full duplex
• Cable length: 7.5 m
• Typical application: short to medium multimode links (data centre/enterprise)

How to use

Inspect both SC connector end faces for contamination before insertion; clean with appropriate fibre cleaning tools if necessary. Maintain proper bend radius during routing to avoid microbending losses, and secure the cable within cable management paths or patch panels to prevent strain on the connectors. Insert the duplex SC connectors into matching duplex ports, ensuring correct polarity for transmit and receive channels. For optical performance verification, perform insertion loss and continuity tests after installation using an appropriate test instrument.

Recommendations

Store the cable coiled without tight bends and protect connector end faces with dust caps until installation. For 10 Gb/s links, follow the recommended link-loss budget and standards for OM3 multimode fibre, and avoid splicing or excessive connector transitions where possible to maintain signal quality.
