Kuitukaapeli METZ CONNECT 151S1JOJO05E 0,5 m LC violetti

The METZ CONNECT 151S1JOJO05E 0.5 m LC Violet is an OM4 multimode fibre optic patch cable with LC connectors on both ends and a 50 µm core diameter. Designed for short-range, high-bandwidth links, this 0.5 m fibre cable provides low insertion loss and consistent signal integrity for modern network infrastructures. The violet jacket identifies the OM4 performance class and supports high-speed data transmission in rack-to-rack, patch panel, and equipment interconnect scenarios.

Advantages

This OM4 fibre cable delivers improved modal bandwidth and higher data rates compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, enabling reliable transmission for 10 GbE, 25 GbE and higher short-reach applications where OM4 is specified. The LC-to-LC connectors provide a compact interface that is common in network equipment and transceivers. The short 0.5 m length reduces unnecessary slack in dense rack installations and simplifies cable management while the robust jacket and factory-terminated connectors maintain connection stability and consistent optical performance.

Suitable for

• Rack-to-rack and panel-to-equipment short-distance links in data centres
• High-bandwidth multimode networks using LC interfaces
• Connections between transceivers, switches and patch panels
• Environments requiring a compact, colour-coded OM4 link

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM4 multimode
• Connector type: LC male to LC male (both ends)
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Cable length: 0.5 m
• Jacket colour: violet (OM4 identification)
• Typical use: short-reach, high-bandwidth multimode links

How to use

Route the 0.5 m LC patch cable between LC ports on compatible equipment, transceivers or patch panels. Ensure connectors are clean before mating by inspecting and, if necessary, using a fibre cleaning tool to remove dust or contamination. Align the LC connectors with the device ports and insert until the latch clicks. Avoid sharp bends and maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius to prevent increased attenuation. For removal, depress the LC latch and gently withdraw the connector to avoid damaging the ferrule.

Recommendations

Store and handle the cable to avoid tight bends, kinks or excessive tension. Use dust caps when connectors are not in use. For reliable high-speed operation, verify connector cleanliness and test link loss after installation. Select OM4 where specified by network requirements to ensure supported data rates and distances for multimode deployments.
