Kytkin Extralink PERSES 8x Gigabit PoE/PoE+ 2x RJ45 uplink 96W

The Extralink PERSES 8x Gigabit PoE/PoE+ 2x RJ45 Uplink 96W is an unmanaged L2 switch designed to simplify deployment of powered devices in small to medium network installations. It provides eight Gigabit PoE/PoE+ ports plus two Gigabit RJ45 uplink ports, and a total power budget of 96 W. The switch supports IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at standards for automatic detection and safe powering of compatible devices, and offers a switching capacity of 20 Gbit/s with a MAC address table of 4096 entries.

Advantages

The Extralink PERSES integrates PoE and Gigabit connectivity in a compact, black metal housing weighing about 1.025 kg. Its unmanaged operation removes the need for configuration while offering practical AI modes: AI QoS prioritizes video traffic for stable monitoring streams, AI VLAN isolates ports 1–8 to reduce broadcast storms, AI Extend enables data and PoE transmission up to 250 m for remote cameras and access points, and AI PoE monitors connected device status and can automatically restart a device that stops responding. Compliance with common IEEE networking standards ensures compatibility with a wide range of devices.

Suitable for

• IP camera and video surveillance systems requiring prioritized video traffic
• Wireless access point deployments where remote PoE power over extended distance is needed
• Small office or retail networks that need simple, plug-and-play PoE delivery
• Environments where port isolation helps prevent broadcast storms and improves stability

Key specifications

• Port count: 8 Gigabit PoE/PoE+ ports + 2 Gigabit RJ45 uplink ports (10 total Gigabit Ethernet ports)
• Total PoE power budget: 96 W
• PoE standards supported: IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at
• Switching capacity: 20 Gbit/s
• MAC address table size: 4096 entries
• Operation mode: Unmanaged L2 switch
• Special modes: AI QoS, AI VLAN (port isolation), AI Extend (up to 250 m), AI PoE (device status monitoring and auto-restart)
• Networking standards: IEEE 802.3i, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3x
• Physical colour and weight: Black, approx. 1.025 kg

How to use

Connect powered devices (IP cameras, access points or other PoE-capable equipment) to ports 1–8 and use the two uplink RJ45 ports to link the switch to your router or core switch. The switch functions without configuration: it automatically detects IEEE 802.3af/at devices and supplies power only to compatible units. Choose AI QoS for monitoring deployments that need video prioritization, enable AI VLAN when port isolation is required, enable AI Extend to deliver power and data to devices up to 250 meters, and use AI PoE to allow the switch to monitor and automatically restart unresponsive devices.

Recommendations

For stable surveillance performance, use quality PoE cables and place cameras and access points within supported distances for the selected mode. Verify the combined power requirements of connected devices do not exceed the 96 W budget and distribute high-power devices across ports to avoid overloading the power budget. When using AI Extend mode over longer runs, use appropriate outdoor-rated cabling and maintain correct grounding practices.
