Laser-etäisyysanturi Milesight EM400-TLD-868M LoRaWAN IP67 — ToF-etäisyysmittaus

The Milesight EM400-TLD-868M LoRaWAN IP67 — ToF range measurement is a non-contact laser distance sensor designed for remote, low-power deployments. It uses Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology to provide reliable distance readings and integrates LoRaWAN connectivity for long-range wireless reporting. Encased with IP67 protection, the sensor is suitable for outdoor and industrial environments where continuous monitoring of distance, level or intrusion is required without direct physical contact.

Advantages

The sensor delivers accurate distance measurement using ToF laser technology while maintaining low energy consumption through LoRaWAN communication protocols. IP67-rated housing ensures resistance to dust and temporary immersion in water, supporting outdoor and harsh-environment installations. Compact design and wireless operation reduce the need for cabling and simplify deployment for asset monitoring, level detection and perimeter surveillance.

Suitable for

• Remote asset monitoring where non-contact distance data is required
• Liquid or bulk material level measurement in tanks and silos
• Perimeter and intrusion detection in outdoor areas
• Automation systems requiring regular range updates with low power consumption

Key specifications

• Measurement technology: Time-of-Flight (ToF) laser distance sensing
• Connectivity: LoRaWAN wireless communication for long-range, low-power reporting
• Environmental protection: IP67-rated enclosure for dust-tight and water-resistant performance
• Measurement type: Non-contact distance and level measurement suitable for solids and liquids
• Typical applications: Asset monitoring, level detection, perimeter surveillance, automation feedback

How to use

Install the EM400-TLD-868M at a stable mounting point with a clear line of sight to the target area to ensure reliable ToF readings. Configure the device through a compatible LoRaWAN network server and set reporting intervals according to monitoring needs to balance responsiveness and battery life. Position the sensor to avoid reflective obstacles or direct interference from strong ambient light sources. Regularly verify alignment and firmware updates as provided by the manufacturer to maintain measurement accuracy.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, mount the sensor where its optical path is unobstructed and protected from direct spray or heavy soiling. Choose LoRaWAN settings that match the deployment’s required range and update frequency; longer intervals extend battery life while shorter intervals improve temporal resolution. When measuring liquids or shiny surfaces, test readings under actual site conditions to confirm reliability and adjust mounting distance as necessary.
