Ultraääni-etäisyysanturi Milesight EM400-MUD-868M-B045-2 LoRaWAN IP67

The Milesight Ultrasonic distance level sensor EM400-MUD-868M-B045-2 is a non-contact measurement device that uses ultrasonic pulses to determine distance and liquid level. Designed for outdoor and industrial environments, the sensor features LoRaWAN connectivity for remote data transmission and IP67 protection against dust and water ingress. It is suitable for monitoring tanks, open channels and other level measurement points where contactless sensing and long-range wireless communication are required.

Advantages

The sensor offers reliable non-contact level measurement that prevents contamination and wear associated with submerged probes. Integrated LoRaWAN communication enables long-range, low-power data transfer to IoT platforms, reducing the need for on-site reading and maintenance visits. IP67-rated housing ensures resistance to dust and water, allowing outdoor installation and operation under harsh weather conditions. The device delivers clear distance readings and can be integrated into automated alerting and monitoring systems.

Suitable for

• Monitoring liquid levels in storage tanks and reservoirs
• Flow and level surveillance in open channels and irrigation systems
• Remote level monitoring in outdoor or hard-to-reach locations
• Integration with LoRaWAN IoT platforms for automated alerts and data logging

Key specifications

• Measurement method: ultrasonic pulse non-contact sensing
• Wireless communication: LoRaWAN protocol compatible with long-range low-power networks
• Ingress protection: IP67 for dust-tight and temporary immersion protection
• Typical applications: tank level, open channel level, distance monitoring

How to use

Install the sensor facing the measured surface with a clear line of sight and secure mounting to avoid vibration. Configure LoRaWAN parameters and join the target network using standard device provisioning procedures. Position the sensor at an appropriate height above the maximum expected level so the ultrasonic beam can measure the full range without obstructions. After installation, verify measurement readings and network connectivity through the connected IoT platform or a LoRaWAN network server.

Recommendations

For stable measurements, ensure the measurement path is free from obstacles, heavy foam or turbulent surfaces that may scatter ultrasonic pulses. Avoid mounting near strong turbulent airflows or reflective structures that could cause false echoes. For outdoor installations, use corrosion-resistant mounting hardware and periodically check the sealing and cable entries to maintain IP67 protection.
