Advantages

This Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable transmits high-resolution video and supports both uncompressed 7.1 audio and compressed formats like DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD when the source device supports audio over DisplayPort. The single-cable solution is convenient for connecting laptops or desktops to TVs, monitors or projectors and helps expand workspace without complex setup.

Key specifications

• Connector: Mini DisplayPort (source) to HDMI (display)
• Maximum resolution: 3840x2160 @ 30Hz (4K UHD)
• Audio support: uncompressed 7.1 and compressed formats (DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby TrueHD) when source supports DisplayPort audio output
• Use case: extend or mirror desktop to HDMI displays

How to use

Connect the Mini DisplayPort plug to the Mini DisplayPort output of the PC or laptop and insert the HDMI plug into the HDMI input of the display. Select the correct HDMI input on the display and configure display settings on the computer to extend or mirror the desktop. If audio over HDMI is required, ensure the computer’s graphics card and drivers support audio output via DisplayPort and select the HDMI audio device in the operating system.

Recommendations

For audio to work over HDMI, verify that the laptop or desktop GPU supports audio output over Mini DisplayPort and that the latest graphics drivers are installed. Use the cable at resolutions and refresh rates supported by both source and display.
