Mittanauha Stanley 1-30-497 5m akryylinitriili-butadieeni-styreeni musta keltainen

The Stanley 1-30-497 5m tape measure combines a compact form factor with a durable Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) housing and a high-contrast black and yellow finish for improved visibility. Designed for measuring linear distances up to five meters, it provides clear, easy-to-read markings and a dependable locking mechanism to hold the blade in place during measurement. The tape's size and construction make it suitable for a range of jobs where reliable, repeatable measurements are required.

Advantages

Constructed with an ABS case, the tape measure resists impact and everyday wear, extending service life in workshop and on-site conditions. The high-contrast color scheme improves sighting on the blade and housing for faster locating among tools. Markings on the blade are legible for common carpentry, construction and home-improvement tasks, while the locking mechanism enables stable measurements and hands-free marking. Its compact 5 m length balances portability and functional reach for most interior and small exterior tasks.

How to use

Pull the tape blade from the housing to the required length and engage the manual lock to hold the blade in position. Align the tape's zero point with the reference edge of the object being measured and read the measurement at the point of interest. Retract the blade slowly, keeping a hand over the tape to control retraction speed and protect the blade and markings. Use the end hook to catch edges or secure the tape when measuring single-handedly.

Recommendations

To prolong accuracy and service life, avoid letting the blade snap back into the case and keep the tape dry and clean. Periodically inspect the locking mechanism and blade for wear or damage; replace the tape if markings become illegible or the lock fails to hold securely. Store the tape in a stable, dry place and avoid exposing it to prolonged direct sunlight or corrosive chemicals.
