STANLEY FatMax Blade Armor tape measure is a compact, durable measuring tool offered in 5 m and 8 m lengths for accurate linear measurement on job sites and at home. The blade features a Blade Armor protective coating that reduces wear and abrasion, while the compact housing with a belt clip and a reliable locking mechanism ensures convenient handling and secure measurement capture. Designed by STANLEY for tradespeople, DIYers and professionals, this tape measure combines portability with enhanced blade life and clear graduations.

Advantages

The reinforced Blade Armor coating increases resistance to abrasion and edge wear, extending the usable life of the blade. The compact housing provides a comfortable grip and reduces bulk in a tool belt, while the belt clip keeps the tape accessible during work. A dependable locking mechanism holds the blade in place for precise readings, and clear printed graduations allow quick interpretation of measurements. The overall construction balances durability and ease of use for repeated field measurements.

How to use

Pull the blade from the housing to the required length and extend it smoothly to the measurement point. Engage the lock to hold the blade steady while reading the graduation marks. For long reaches, use the blade’s rigidity provided by the design and Blade Armor coating to minimize sag. Retract the blade slowly into the housing to avoid rapid snapping and to protect the tape edge. Attach the tape measure to a belt or work apron via the clip for easy access during repeated use.

Recommendations

Store the tape measure in a dry place to prevent corrosion of the hook and internal components. Avoid letting the blade snap back at full speed; controlled retraction preserves the Blade Armor coating and internal spring. Periodically clean the blade with a dry cloth to remove debris and maintain clear graduations. Choose the 5 m model for compact portability and lighter tasks, or the 8 m model when longer reach is frequently required.
