USB port blockers provide a simple physical method for preventing unauthorised access to USB ports on shared workstations and devices in public spaces. The blockers fit into standard USB ports and remain in place until removed with the matching key, helping to stop insertion of pen drives, USB mass storage and mobile devices.

Advantages

These USB port blockers are compact and easy to install without tools. They create a visible, physical barrier that reduces the risk of data theft and introduction of malware via removable media. The system requires a matching coloured key to remove each blocker, which supports controlled access and key management.

Key specifications

• Type: USB port blocker for standard USB-A ports
• Compatibility: designed for USB ports in public and shared environments
• Removal method: requires matching colour-coded key
• Installation: insert blocker into port and lock with sliding mechanism on the key

How to use

Attach the key to the lock and insert the assembly into the USB port. Release the sliding mechanism on the key to leave the blocker engaged in the port. To remove the blocker, insert the matching key into the lock and pull the key and blocker out together. Ensure you use the key that corresponds to the blocker colour to avoid compatibility issues.

Recommendations

Keep a record of key colours and their assigned locations or users. Verify compatibility before purchase: each blocker must be removed with the corresponding colour of port blocker key.
