2 inch ulosvetäjä Skywatcher SW-7200 hammastankatarkennin kaukoputkille

The Skywatcher 2" Extractor SW-7200 rack & pinion focuser is a mechanical focusing accessory for telescopes that accepts 2-inch eyepieces and adapters. It provides manual, precise focus control through a rack-and-pinion drive, enabling fine adjustments for visual observation and imaging. The extractor function allows secure holding of 2" accessories while offering enough travel for achieving sharp focus across different eyepiece types and camera adapters. Designed for installation in compatible telescope tubes, the unit emphasizes smooth rotation, stable axial alignment and repeatable positioning.

Advantages

The rack-and-pinion mechanism delivers consistent, backlash-minimized focusing with tactile feedback for slow, accurate adjustments. The 2" accessory interface ensures broad compatibility with standard eyepieces, cameras and adapters used in amateur astronomy. Mechanical construction focuses on rigidity and stable axial alignment to reduce image shift during focusing, making it suitable for both visual use and basic astrophotography. The extractor feature simplifies swapping and securing larger accessories without tools in most setups.

Suitable for

• Visual observing with 2" eyepieces
• Planetary and deep-sky imaging with camera adapters
• Use on medium to large amateur telescope tubes that accept a 2" focuser
• Adapters and Barlow lens installations requiring stable axial alignment

Key specifications

• Focuser type: Rack-and-pinion
• Accessory interface: 2-inch extractor tube compatible with standard 2" eyepieces and adapters
• Focus control: Manual fine adjustment via focusing knob
• Mechanical features: Designed for stable axial alignment and minimal backlash
• Mounting: Designed for installation into compatible telescope tubes or focuser openings

How to use

Install the focuser into the telescope tube following the tube manufacturer’s mounting instructions and secure it with the provided screws or appropriate fasteners. Insert a 2" eyepiece or adapter into the extractor tube and secure it according to the focuser’s clamping mechanism. Use the focusing knob to move the drawtube in or out until the target object appears sharp at the eyepiece or camera. For imaging, make coarse adjustments to reach approximate focus, then perform fine turns of the knob to achieve critical focus. Verify that the accessory is properly seated and that the axial alignment is maintained during adjustments.

Recommendations

For improved focusing precision during astrophotography, allow the focuser to reach thermal equilibrium with the ambient temperature before critical imaging sessions, and check that all accessory connections are tight. Avoid over-tightening clamps to prevent binding; instead, use gradual clamp pressure and repeat fine adjustments as needed.
