Dobson-teleskooppi Skywatcher SynScan-sarja Dobsonian 8 GoTo-toiminnolla ja helpolla käyttöönotolla

Skywatcher SynScan Kit Dobsonian 8 with GoTo functionality and easy setup is an 8-inch Dobsonian telescope kit combining a large-aperture primary mirror with SynScan computerized object locating. The design focuses on straightforward setup and intuitive operation, providing automated pointing to celestial targets while retaining the simplicity and stability of a Dobsonian mount. The kit is intended for visual observation of planets, the Moon and a wide range of deep-sky objects with improved target acquisition compared with manual-only Dobsonians.

Advantages

The SynScan Kit Dobsonian 8 integrates GoTo functionality for automated target acquisition, reducing the time needed to find objects and simplifying observing sessions for beginners and experienced users alike. The 8-inch aperture offers a balance between light-gathering power and portability, enabling detailed views of planets and substantial access to faint nebulae and galaxies. The Dobsonian mount provides mechanical simplicity and stable support for the optical tube, and the kit’s setup workflow is designed for quick assembly and alignment at the observing site.

Suitable for

• Visual observation of the Moon and planets
• Deep-sky viewing of nebulae, star clusters and brighter galaxies
• Backyard astronomy and field trips requiring easy setup
• Users who want automated GoTo object locating with a simple Dobsonian platform

Key specifications

• Aperture: 8 inches (approximately 203 mm) for improved light gathering
• Optical design: Newtonian reflector on a Dobsonian base
• Mount type: Alt-azimuth Dobsonian with computerised GoTo control
• GoTo system: SynScan computerized object database and automated pointing
• Suitable focal ratio: typical Newtonian focal ratio suitable for planetary and deep-sky observation
• Portability: tube and base sized for backyard transport and field use

How to use

Assemble the Dobsonian base and place the optical tube in the cradle, securing the bearings and any supplied clamps. Attach the finder scope or red dot sight and the eyepiece. Power the SynScan hand controller or mount control unit, perform the required alignment procedure following the kit instructions—typically involving leveling, centring alignment stars or using a simple two- or three-star alignment routine—and allow the GoTo system to calibrate. Use the hand controller to select objects from the SynScan database or to enter coordinates; the mount will slew to targets automatically. Once on target, fine-tune focus with the focuser and, if desired, switch eyepieces for different magnifications.

Recommendations

For best results, collimate the primary and secondary mirrors periodically to maintain image sharpness, use a stable power source for the SynScan system, and perform alignment under reasonably clear skies away from direct artificial lights. Start observations on brighter objects to confirm alignment before moving to fainter deep-sky targets. Transport the kit in protective cases or padding to protect mirrors and mechanical parts.
