Napasuuntausetsimen lisävaruste, Polar Finder EQ8 SW-4235 OEM tarkkaan suuntaukseen

The Polar finder telescope accessory SW-4235 OEM is a dedicated sighting tool designed for EQ8-style equatorial mounts to assist with precise polar alignment. It mounts to the mount’s polar axis and provides a stable reference for locating the celestial pole, helping to reduce drift and improve tracking accuracy during long-exposure astrophotography and extended observing sessions.

Advantages

This polar finder offers a compact and robust optical viewfinder that simplifies the process of aligning an equatorial mount to the celestial pole. By providing a clear sighting reticle and secure attachment to the polar axis, it enables repeatable positioning and reduces the need for iterative adjustments. The unit is suitable for both initial coarse alignment and finer adjustments required for guiding and long-exposure imaging.

Suitable for

• Precise polar alignment of EQ8-style equatorial mounts
• Astrophotography where accurate tracking and low drift are required
• Long-exposure visual observing and time-lapse sky imaging
• Amateur and advanced observers seeking repeatable alignment

Key specifications

• Form factor: polar axis-mounted optical finder
• Optical type: sighting reticle viewfinder optimized for polar alignment
• Compatibility: designed for EQ8-style mounts with matching polar axis interface
• Mounting: secure attachment to polar axis to ensure stable alignment reference
• Use case: intended for coarse and fine polar alignment to improve mount tracking

How to use

Install the polar finder into the mount’s polar axis bore or mounting point following the mount manufacturer’s guidance for orientation and tightening. Use the finder’s reticle to place the pole star (or appropriate reference point) in the correct position, making coarse adjustments to the mount’s altitude and azimuth controls and then refining alignment with iterative checks. For astrophotography, verify alignment by performing a short test exposure or drift check and adjust as needed before a long imaging run.

Recommendations

Use alongside the mount’s polar scope illuminator or a dedicated alignment app to speed up setup. Perform final verification with guiding or short test exposures to confirm tracking stability before starting long exposures.
