Sky-Watcher EQ5 PRO päiväntasaajakiinnitys NEQ5-jalustalla (malli SW-4152)

Sky-Watcher EQ5 PRO equatorial mount on NEQ5 tripod (model SW-4152) is a motorized polar-aligned mount designed for visual astronomy and amateur astrophotography. The mount provides right ascension and declination axes with slow-motion control and motorized tracking to follow celestial objects across the sky after polar alignment. Supplied on a NEQ5 tripod, the system is intended to support medium-weight telescopes for stable observation and for imaging with long exposures when correctly balanced and aligned.

Advantages

The EQ5 PRO offers precise equatorial tracking for improved object retention in the eyepiece or on a camera sensor, reducing field rotation during longer exposures. The mount’s geared axis controls and motor drive enable steady, smooth movement and fine adjustments. The NEQ5 tripod adds physical stability through extendable legs and a solid head platform, helping to minimize vibration. The combined unit is suitable for users transitioning from simple alt-azimuth setups to polar-aligned mounts for more advanced observing and basic to intermediate astrophotography.

Suitable for

• Visual observation of planets, the Moon, star clusters and nebulae
• Long-exposure astrophotography with medium-weight refractors or reflectors
• Time-lapse imaging and guided exposures when used with a guide scope and autoguider
• Field use and backyard observing thanks to a portable tripod design

Key specifications

• Mount type: German equatorial mount with polar axis
• Tracking: Motorized right ascension drive with declination clutch and slow-motion controls
• Payload capacity: suitable for medium-weight optical tubes (typical small to medium telescopes and imaging setups)
• Counterweight shaft: included for balance adjustment
• Tripod: adjustable-height aluminium NEQ5 tripod with leg braces and accessory tray
• Alignment: designed for polar alignment using polar scope or drift alignment methods
• Mounting saddle: compatible with common dovetail bars for OTA attachment

How to use

Mount the telescope optical tube assembly on the saddle and secure it with the dovetail clamp, then fit appropriate counterweights on the shaft and balance the system in both right ascension and declination. Level the tripod and set the approximate latitude angle on the mount’s polar axis. Perform polar alignment using the built-in polar scope or alignment routine, then engage the motor drive and adjust tracking rate as required for visual use or astrophotography. Use the slow-motion controls or hand controller to center objects in the field; when imaging, verify balance and polar alignment before starting long exposures.

Recommendations

For stable long-exposure images, ensure precise polar alignment, use an appropriate counterweight balance, and add guiding support (guide scope and autoguider) for exposures beyond a few minutes. Transport the mount with care and assemble on a firm, level surface to reduce vibration. Regularly check and tighten clutches and dovetail fittings, and protect the mount from moisture and dust when not in use.
