Suodatin Hama Vario 6,2 cm

Vario neutral-density filter ND2–400 for 62 mm lenses reduces incoming light to allow longer exposures or wider apertures in bright conditions. The filter features a rotating front element to vary density continuously from roughly 1 to 8 stops of exposure correction. The filter body is black and compatible with lenses that accept 62 mm filters; the front element is stepped outward to reduce the risk of vignetting and therefore requires a 67 mm lens cap.

Advantages

The Hama Vario ND2–400 provides a continuous range of neutral density so you can fine-tune exposure without changing filters. Its rotating front lens enables smooth adjustment between low and high attenuation while preserving image color balance. The stepped front element reduces vignetting on wide-angle lenses and the 62 mm thread size maintains compatibility with lenses specified for this filter diameter.

Suitable for

• Landscape photography with long exposures (moving water, clouds)
• Portraits outdoors using wide apertures to achieve shallow depth of field
• Video recording in bright light where fixed shutter speed or aperture is required
• Creative motion effects such as smoothing waterfalls or traffic trails

Key specifications

• Filter type: Variable neutral-density (ND2–ND400)
• Exposure correction: approximately +1 to +8 stops
• Mount/thread size: 62 mm
• Front element: stepped/extended to reduce vignetting; requires 67 mm lens cap
• Color/finish: black

How to use

Screw the filter onto a lens with a 62 mm filter thread. Rotate the front element to set the desired density while observing the exposure changes in the camera viewfinder or on the live view display. For long-exposure landscape shots, use a tripod and gradually increase ND strength until the desired motion blur is achieved. For portraits in bright light, open the aperture to the intended value and adjust the filter to avoid overexposure.

Recommendations

To minimize vignetting on wide-angle lenses, use the stepped front lens design and fit a 67 mm lens cap when protecting the front element. Avoid extreme settings that may introduce cross-polarization effects with some lenses or cause uneven exposure; check results at multiple settings before a critical shoot.
