Suunta-antenni Poynting A-WLAN-060-V1 2,4 GHz / 5 GHz 18 dBi

The Poynting A-WLAN-060-V1 directional antenna provides focused Wi‑Fi performance on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands with an 18 dBi gain. Built for targeted coverage, this antenna concentrates radio energy into a narrow beam to extend range and improve signal quality for routers, access points and point‑to‑point wireless links. Its design supports indoor and outdoor installation where long‑range, directed connectivity is needed and where reducing interference from other sources is important.

Advantages

The antenna’s 18 dBi gain delivers stronger received and transmitted signals over a defined sector, improving link margin and throughput for compatible wireless equipment. Dual‑band operation ensures compatibility with common Wi‑Fi standards on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, while the directional radiation pattern reduces multipath and off‑axis interference. The durable enclosure and mounting options make it suitable for exposed installations, and the focused beam simplifies network planning by allowing precise alignment between endpoints.

Suitable for

• Extending Wi‑Fi range to a specific outdoor area or distant building
• Point‑to‑point or point‑to‑multipoint wireless links between sites
• Improving reception for routers and access points in environments with competing signals
• Deployments requiring directed coverage to reduce interference and increase link stability

Key specifications

• Frequency bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz dual‑band operation
• Gain: 18 dBi
• Radiation pattern: directional (narrow beam for focused coverage)
• Polarization: model dependent; suitable for standard Wi‑Fi polarizations
• Mounting: indoor or outdoor mounting compatible with pole and wall fixtures
• Connector type: compatible with common RF connectors used on consumer and professional Wi‑Fi equipment

How to use

Install the antenna on a stable mount such as a pole or wall bracket, ensuring a clear line of sight toward the target coverage area or remote endpoint. Connect the antenna to the router, access point or radio using an appropriate RF cable and connector type; check connector orientation and tighten to secure the connection. For best performance, align the antenna precisely toward the intended receiver and verify signal strength using the device’s diagnostics or a Wi‑Fi analyzer. Seal outdoor cable connections and mounts against moisture according to standard outdoor installation practices.

Recommendations

Use the Poynting A-WLAN-060-V1 where targeted long‑range connectivity is required; select the 2.4 GHz band for better obstacle penetration and the 5 GHz band for higher capacity and reduced congestion. Verify connector compatibility before installation and perform alignment tests to obtain optimal throughput. Avoid placing the antenna near large metal objects or reflective surfaces that can distort the directional beam.
