Kaiutin Tannoy PCI 45DC, 3-tie, 45W

The Tannoy PCI 45DC is a 3-way ceiling speaker with a dual concentric driver architecture and a rated power of 45W. Designed for fixed installation, it integrates a coaxial mid/tweeter arrangement within a woofer to provide coherent point-source sound from the ceiling. The speaker's construction is intended for commercial and professional environments where a discreet, in-ceiling solution is required and where clear vocal and background music reproduction is important.

Advantages

The dual concentric design produces aligned acoustic centers for improved imaging and uniform off-axis response compared with separate driver layouts. A 3-way configuration separates low, mid and high frequencies for reduced distortion at higher playback levels. The shallow, in-ceiling form factor and minimal visible grille facilitate unobtrusive installation while the cabinet and driver construction are specified for continuous use in public and commercial spaces.

Suitable for

• Background music in retail stores and restaurants
• Public address and paging systems in offices and institutions
• Conference rooms and meeting spaces requiring clear speech reproduction
• Installed audio systems in hotels and leisure facilities

Key specifications

• Configuration: 3-way ceiling speaker with dual concentric driver
• Continuous power rating: 45 W
• Installation type: flush ceiling mount with grille
• Intended use: commercial and installation environments
• Frequency handling: separate drivers for low, mid and high bands

How to use

Prepare the ceiling cut-out according to the speaker's mounting dimensions and ensure the installation location can support the speaker weight and grille. Route speaker cabling from the amplifier or distribution system and terminate using recommended connectors. Fit the speaker into the ceiling aperture, secure it per the manufacturer's mounting clamps or brackets, and attach the grille for a flush finish. Adjust system crossover or EQ settings at the amplifier to match room acoustics and the speaker's three-band configuration for balanced output.

Recommendations

For reliable performance, use the PCI 45DC in matched-impedance zones with appropriate power headroom; avoid driving the speaker beyond its rated continuous power. Position speakers to provide even coverage and combine with local equalization to optimise speech intelligibility and background-music balance in the target space.
