TARGUS TunaBone hinge system for Kamado 23"/24" — hinge replacement kit provides the parts required to repair or upgrade the lid mechanism of ceramic kamado grills with a 23- or 24-inch diameter. The kit includes mounting components designed to restore smooth opening, reliable counterbalance and secure support of the grill lid, helping to maintain safe operation and extend the usable life of the appliance. It is compatible with a range of home and outdoor kamado-style grills that use similar hinge architectures.

Advantages

The TARGUS TunaBone hinge system is built to replace worn or broken hinges and to improve lid movement consistency. Components are made to fit standard kamado mounting points for 23" and 24" domes, reducing installation complexity. The design focuses on stable support to prevent sudden lid drops and to facilitate controlled opening and closing. Using an original-brand replacement kit helps preserve the structural integrity of the grill and reduces the need for more extensive repairs.

Follow manufacturer instructions included with the kit: remove the old hinge hardware, align the TARGUS TunaBone hinge components with the existing mounting points, and fasten securely using the supplied or recommended fasteners. Check lid movement for smooth operation and adjust fastener tension if necessary to achieve proper counterbalance and secure support. If uncertain, consult a qualified technician or the grill manufacturer for compatibility and installation guidance.

Recommendations

Regularly inspect hinge components for wear, corrosion or loose fasteners. Keep mounting points clean and lightly lubricated with a high-temperature, food-safe lubricant where appropriate. Replace the hinge kit if excessive play or damage is observed to maintain safe operation of the kamado grill.
