Tether Tools CU3017 USB-kaapeli 5 m USB 3.2 Gen 1 oranssi

The Tether Tools CU3017 is a 5 m USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0 / 3.1 Gen 1) orange cable with USB A connectors designed for tethered photography and videography. Built to strict USB specifications, this cable provides consistent conductivity and supports data transfer rates up to 5 Gbit/s, making it suitable for reliable camera-to-computer connections. The bright orange jacket improves visibility on set and the fully shielded construction reduces external interference for stable transfers.

Advantages

This 5 m USB A to USB A cable is constructed to high USB standards, incorporating shielding and signal filtering to minimise transmission errors and noise. Its active-extension-compatible length and robust build help maintain stable transfers over longer tethering distances. The orange colour enhances cable management and quick identification during shoots.

Suitable for

• Tethered photography and studio shoots
• Connecting cameras, card readers or other USB A devices to computers
• Video capture and live-stream setups requiring reliable 5 Gbit/s transfers

How to use

Plug one USB A end of the CU3017 cable into your computer and the other USB A end into your camera, card reader, or compatible USB device. For extended tethering distances, use the CU3017 with an active USB extension or a TetherPro active extension placed closer to the device to avoid signal degradation. Ensure connectors are fully seated and avoid tight bends near the ends of the cable.

Recommendations

For distances beyond 5 m, use an active USB extension or TetherBoost™ devices when connecting power-hungry cameras or digital backs to maintain stable connectivity and avoid signal errors. Do not rely on passive USB 3.0 cables longer than 5 m for guaranteed data integrity.
