Valvontakamera Hikvision DS-2CD2046G2H-IU 2,8 mm

The Hikvision DS-2CD2046G2H-IU 2.8mm is a 4MP IP surveillance camera designed for outdoor monitoring where clear daytime detail and reliable night-time imaging are required. Equipped with a 2.8mm wide-angle lens, this compact dome camera captures high-resolution video suitable for perimeter, entrance and general area surveillance. The camera supports network connectivity for remote viewing and is built to withstand outdoor conditions while delivering consistent image quality.

Advantages

The camera provides 4MP resolution for improved image clarity and identification compared with lower-resolution models. A fixed 2.8mm lens offers a broad field of view, reducing the number of cameras needed to cover open areas. The device includes low-light performance features for enhanced night vision and supports motion detection to trigger events or recording. Network access allows for remote monitoring from mobile devices and centralized systems.

Suitable for

• Perimeter and fence line surveillance
• Building entrances, lobbies and parking areas
• Small- to medium-sized outdoor spaces requiring wide coverage
• Integration into IP video management systems for remote monitoring

Key specifications

• Image sensor: 4MP progressive scan
• Lens: 2.8mm fixed wide-angle lens
• Video output: IP network streaming (H.265/H.264 compatible)
• Low-light capability and night vision functionality
• Motion detection and event-triggered recording support
• Outdoor-rated housing for weather resistance
• Remote access via mobile apps and network video recorders

How to use

Mount the camera at the planned location ensuring the 2.8mm lens covers the desired scene. Connect the device to your IP network via Ethernet; if supported, use Power over Ethernet (PoE) for combined power and data on a single cable. Configure network settings and video parameters through the camera's web interface or the manufacturer's management software, set motion detection zones and recording schedules, and register the camera with a network video recorder or mobile app for remote viewing.

Recommendations

Install the camera at a height that minimizes tampering and provides an unobstructed view. Position lighting and angles to reduce backlight and glare. Regularly check firmware updates and configure secure passwords and network settings to maintain system security. For optimal coverage in larger areas, combine the wide-angle 2.8mm lens camera with cameras that have narrower focal lengths or PTZ units.
