Verkkomediakonvertteri PLANET MC-1500

The PLANET MC-1500 is a 19" rack-mountable media conversion chassis that accommodates up to fifteen network media converters in a single 1U/2U-style enclosure. Designed for 10/100/1000Base-T(X) cabling environments, the MC-1500 reduces cable clutter and centralizes fiber-optic and copper media conversion while providing system cooling and status indicators via dual fans with LED indicators. Each bay features an independent power supply so individual converters can be installed or removed without powering down the remaining units. The chassis is compatible with PLANET Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit converter modules for twisted-pair to fiber and SX-to-LX conversions.

Advantages

The MC-1500 offers high consolidation by supporting up to fifteen converters in one 19" chassis, saving rack space and simplifying fiber-optic cabling runs. Independent power for each bay allows hot-swap installation or removal of converters without interrupting other network services. Built-in dual fans with LEDs provide active cooling and visual status feedback for system and fan health. Its compact dimensions (440 mm × 180 mm × 103 mm) and standard 19-inch form factor make it suitable for typical rack installations and compliant with FCC and CE regulatory standards.

Suitable for

• Centralizing multiple PLANET media converters in wiring closets or data cabinets
• Environments requiring mixed copper-to-fiber or SX-to-LX conversions
• Small to medium network deployments where rack space and cable management are important

Key specifications

• Model: PLANET MC-1500
• Support: up to 15 converter slots in one 19" chassis
• Cabling standard: 10/100/1000Base-T(X)
• Dimensions: 440 mm (W) × 180 mm (D) × 103 mm (H)
• Color: Black
• Regulatory: FCC, CE
• AC input frequency: 50–60 Hz

How to use

Mount the MC-1500 into a standard 19" rack or cabinet and install compatible PLANET media converter modules into the available bays. Connect AC power to the chassis and verify fan LEDs indicate normal operation. Insert network cabling—copper to the RJ-45 ports on converter modules and fiber to the appropriate SFP or fiber interfaces—following the converter module instructions. With independent bay power, you can add or replace converter modules while the rest of the chassis remains operational.

Recommendations

Install the MC-1500 in a well-ventilated rack space, keep front and rear airflow unobstructed, and use compatible PLANET converter modules to ensure proper electrical and optical matching. Regularly check fan LEDs and module status indicators to maintain continuous operation.
