Verkon mediakonvertteri TRENDnet TI-BF22SFP 1GbE 2 RJ-45-portilla ja 2 SFP-paikalla

TRENDnet TI-BF22SFP is a 1GbE network media converter offering two RJ-45 copper ports and two SFP fiber slots to enable mixed-media Ethernet deployments. The device converts between copper and fiber links, allowing integration of fiber segments into existing copper networks and extending Gigabit Ethernet connections over fiber where distance or electromagnetic immunity is required. The compact converter supports standard 1 Gigabit links and provides flexible port pairing for simple network upgrades at the edge or in small office environments.

Advantages

The TI-BF22SFP supports both copper and fiber interfaces in a single unit, reducing the need for separate adapters and simplifying physical network design. Its SFP slots accept industry-standard SFP transceivers for customizable fiber type and distance. The presence of two RJ-45 ports alongside two SFP slots enables link redundancy or simultaneous copper and fiber connections, helping to maintain connectivity during network changes. The converter's 1GbE capability ensures compatibility with Gigabit Ethernet infrastructure.

Suitable for

• Extending Ethernet links over fiber between buildings or floors
• Connecting fiber backbone to copper-based switches or endpoints
• Network edge deployments in small offices, retail, or light industrial sites
• Situations requiring mixed-media interfaces or transitional upgrades

Key specifications

• Network speed: 1 Gigabit Ethernet (1GbE)
• Copper ports: 2 × RJ-45 (10/100/1000 Mbps auto-negotiation)
• Fiber slots: 2 × SFP cages for modular fiber transceivers
• Media conversion: Copper-to-fiber and fiber-to-copper conversion
• Form factor: Compact standalone media converter

How to use

Install compatible SFP transceivers into the SFP slots according to the required fiber type and distance, then connect fiber optic cables to the transceivers. Connect copper Ethernet cables to the RJ-45 ports for local switch or device connectivity. Power the unit using the supplied power adapter or supported power source and allow the ports to establish link negotiation. Configure any connected network devices (switches, routers, or endpoints) for required speeds and duplex settings if auto-negotiation is not used. Monitor link LEDs to verify active connections and troubleshoot cabling or transceiver compatibility if links do not establish.

Recommendations

Place the converter in a ventilated location away from direct heat sources and run fiber and copper cables according to best practices for bend radius and strain relief. Use SFP transceivers that match the fiber type (single-mode or multi-mode) and connector standard of your cabling. For critical links, consider using redundant paths or monitoring to ensure continuous connectivity.
