Asennussarja Noctua NM-AM5/4-MP83 mustakromi Socket AM4 AM5

The NM-AM5/4-MP83 is a SecuFirm2™ mounting upgrade kit that lets Noctua CPU coolers with an 83mm mounting pitch be mounted on AMD AM5 and AM4 sockets. It preserves the original SecuFirm2™ goals of reliable long-term stability, correct contact pressure and a straightforward installation process so that existing Noctua heatsinks remain usable on modern AMD Ryzen processors.

Advantages

The kit is compatible with Noctua coolers that use the 83mm mounting pitch and installs to the motherboard's standard AMD backplate, reducing extra parts and simplifying the procedure. SecuFirm2™ systems use high-grade coil springs to provide consistent contact pressure without guesswork, preventing damage from over-tightening. The mounting solution is purpose-designed for AM5 and AM4 to avoid cross-platform compatibility issues and supports backwards compatibility, allowing many older Noctua coolers to be reused across multiple CPU generations. Choosing an upgrade kit instead of a new cooler also reduces waste and supports sustainability.

Key specifications

• Compatibility: Noctua CPU coolers with 83mm mounting pitch (see manufacturer compatibility list)
• Supported sockets: AMD AM5, AMD AM4
• Mounting system: SecuFirm2™
• Backplate: uses standard AMD stock backplate pre-installed on motherboard
• Contact pressure: high-grade coil springs for consistent pressure
• Purpose: upgrade kit to reuse existing Noctua heatsinks on AM5/AM4

How to use

Confirm that your Noctua cooler uses the 83mm mounting pitch by checking the manufacturer's compatibility information. Remove the cooler from the CPU and follow the supplied instructions to attach the SecuFirm2™ brackets to the cooler and to the standard AMD backplate on your motherboard. Tighten the screws evenly; the coil springs ensure correct contact pressure so no torque guessing is required. Reinstall the cooler and reconnect any fan cables according to the cooler's manual.

Recommendations

Before installation, verify compatibility with Noctua’s detailed compatibility list and ensure the motherboard still uses the stock AMD backplate. If in doubt, consult the product documentation or Noctua support to confirm suitability for your specific cooler model.
