CBO InfiniBand SFP+ Active Optical -kaapeli CBL-10GSFP-AOC-5M-BO, 5 m, oranssi

This CBO InfiniBand SFP+ Active Optical Cable CBL-10GSFP-AOC-5M-BO is a 5-meter orange active optical cable designed to provide short-range high-speed connections between SFP+ ports. It integrates optical transceivers in the cable ends to enable direct, low-latency links between switches, servers and storage systems that use SFP+ interfaces. The cable removes the need for separate transceivers, reduces electromagnetic interference compared with copper cabling and supports reliable data transmission in rack-to-rack and intra-rack installations.

Advantages

The active optical design offers higher signal integrity over the 5 m length while keeping power consumption low. Its fixed-length, pluggable SFP+ form factor simplifies installation and reduces inventory of separate modules and patch cords. The optical medium eliminates susceptibility to electromagnetic interference and provides thermal stability in dense data center environments. The orange jacket improves cable identification and routing in equipment racks.

Key specifications

How to use

Insert each SFP+ end into the corresponding SFP+ port on your switches, network adapters or storage devices until the latch clicks. Ensure both devices are powered and configured for compatible link speed and negotiation settings. No separate transceivers or fiber patch cords are required; the cable contains the optical transceivers integrated into the connectors. Monitor link status on connected equipment and verify that the link is active before moving or securing the cable within the rack.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical stress; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius for active optical assemblies. Use the orange jacket as a visual guide to segregate optical links from copper cabling. For optimal performance, confirm device compatibility with SFP+ active optical cables and update device firmware if required for support of direct-attach AOC modules.
