BlueOptics SFP-AOC-10G-7M-AT-BO InfiniBand-/kuituoptinen kaapeli 7 m SFP+ uros/uros

The BlueOptics SFP-AOC-10G-7M-AT-BO is a 7-metre active optical cable (AOC) with SFP+ male-to-male connectors designed for 10G data transmission over multimode fibre. Built to MSA SFP+ AOC standards, this cable integrates transmitter and receiver modules on each end to support protocols such as 10GBASE-SR, Ethernet and Fibre Channel over Ethernet. The pre-assembled fibre link eliminates the need for patch cords and attenuators, reduces electromagnetic interference, and provides a single-cable solution for connecting switches, routers and servers in data centres and network racks.

Advantages

The cable offers a factory-terminated optical connection compliant with MSA specifications, enabling plug-and-play interoperability with hardware that supports SFP+ AOCs. Its active optical design supports simultaneous send and receive through optical laser transmission and includes digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM/DOM) for real-time parameters such as supply voltage, laser bias current, transmit power, receive power and temperature when the host supports the function. Components are selected from established manufacturers to provide extended service life and high mean time between failures.

Suitable for

• High-speed uplinks between SFP+ ports in switches and routers
• Server-to-switch connections in data centres
• Storage area networks and Fibre Channel over Ethernet links
• Short-range interconnects inside racks or between adjacent racks (up to 7 m)

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP+ male to SFP+ male
• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC) with multimode fibre
• Length: 7 metres
• Supported line rate: up to 10 Gbit/s
• Protocol compatibility: 10GBASE-SR, Ethernet, Fibre Channel over Ethernet
• Monitoring: Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM/DOM) support when host provides interface
• Compliance: Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) for SFP+ AOCs; meets common industrial standards for electromagnetic immunity

How to use

Install the BlueOptics SFP-AOC-10G-7M-AT-BO by inserting each SFP+ end into the SFP+ port of the respective devices until the module latches. Ensure that devices are powered and that the host firmware or operating system supports third-party SFP+ AOCs if required. If DDM/DOM features are needed, verify that the network equipment provides access to digital diagnostic parameters. Avoid sharp bends in the cable and secure the cable to prevent strain on the SFP+ housings.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, route the cable within rack cable management to maintain a bend radius consistent with multimode fibre specifications, keep connectors free of dust, and consult the device compatibility list before deployment. Use the 7 m AOC for short-range, high-bandwidth links inside or between adjacent racks and prefer passive or active AOCs over patching when minimizing insertion loss and maintenance is a priority.
