BlueOptics SFP8181FU5MK InfiniBand-kuitukaapeli 5 m LC OM4

The BlueOptics SFP8181FU5MK InfiniBand fibre optic cable 5 m LC OM4 is a duplex multimode fibre cable designed for high-speed data transmission in modern networking and data center environments. With LC connectors on both ends and a 5-meter length, this cable supports InfiniBand links and other high-bandwidth interconnects. The OM4 fibre type provides improved modal bandwidth and lower attenuation compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, while the 125 µm core diameter aligns with standard multimode interfaces to ensure compatibility with common transceivers and patch panels.

Advantages

This OM4 cable offers reliable signal integrity for short to medium reach connections, benefiting from higher bandwidth and enhanced modal dispersion performance. The LC duplex termination ensures compact connector footprint and easy routing in dense patching environments. The fixed 5 m length balances flexibility and structured cabling requirements, making it suitable for rack-to-rack or equipment-to-equipment connections within server rooms and networking closets.

How to use

Inspect connectors and cable jacket for any visible damage before installation. Align and insert LC connectors into compatible transceivers or adapter ports until they click into place, ensuring correct duplex orientation for transmit and receive channels. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and stress points; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius for OM4 multimode fibre. For removal, depress the LC latch and pull straight out to avoid damaging the connector ferrule.

Recommendations

Use this cable in controlled indoor environments such as data centers and equipment rooms. Keep protective dust caps on connectors when not in use, and clean fibre endfaces with appropriate cleaning tools before mating to minimize insertion loss. Avoid routing near strong electromagnetic sources and secure cables to prevent strain on connectors and transceivers.
