Braun kiikari ED Line 12x50

The Braun Binocular ED Line 12x50 stands apart from typical high-magnification binoculars by combining extra-low dispersion glass with fully multi-coated optics and phase-corrected BaK-4 prisms. This optical recipe delivers razor-sharp, high-contrast images with true-to-life colour fidelity, even in challenging light. The 12x magnification pulls distant subjects remarkably close, while the 50 mm objective lenses gather ample light for bright, detailed viewing at dawn, dusk, or under dense canopy. Built on a rugged magnesium alloy chassis and sealed to IPX7 waterproof standards, it is equally at home on a rain-soaked birding trip or a dusty safari.

Highlights

• 12x magnification with 50 mm ED objective lenses for exceptional detail and brightness
• Extra-low dispersion glass and fully multi-coated optics minimise chromatic aberration and maximise light transmission
• Phase-corrected BaK-4 roof prisms ensure high resolution and contrast across the entire field
• Waterproof to IPX7 (1 m for 30 min) and nitrogen-purged to prevent internal fogging
• Magnesium alloy body with rubber armour for a secure, comfortable grip and all-weather durability
• Wide 87 m field of view at 1000 m and 15 mm eye relief for comfortable extended viewing
• Tripod adaptable via standard 1/4" thread for stable long-duration observation

In daily use

From a hide at first light to a mountain ridge at noon, the ED Line 12x50 handles every scenario with composure. The 15 mm eye relief and twist-up eyecups accommodate eyeglass wearers, while the smooth central focus wheel allows rapid target acquisition. The close focus of 2.5 m is a bonus for observing butterflies or flowers. The included padded carrying case and wide neck strap make it comfortable to carry all day, and the tethered lens caps protect the optics between sightings.
