Helos kuitu-kaapeli 2 m OM3 LC/ST

The Helos 2m OM3 LC/ST fibre optic cable is a duplex multimode patch cable with a 50 µm core diameter designed for high-speed data transmission over short to medium distances. With LC connector on one end and ST connector on the other, this 2-meter OM3 cable supports reliable full duplex communication and is suitable for structured cabling in data centers, server rooms and enterprise networks.

Advantages

This OM3 fibre cable delivers low insertion loss and predictable attenuation characteristics for multimode links, enabling stable high-bandwidth transfers. The combination of LC and ST connectors provides flexible interconnection between modern equipment and legacy devices. The 2 m length balances manageability and reach in rack and cabinet environments, while the multimode 50 µm core supports laser-optimized performance for short wavelength VCSEL-based transceivers.

Suitable for

• Interconnecting switches, patch panels and servers in data centers
• Campus and enterprise backbone links within buildings
• Fiber patching between transceivers and media converters
• Lab setups and equipment testing requiring LC to ST connections

Key specifications

• Cable type: Multimode OM3 fibre
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Length: 2 meters
• Connector A: LC (single duplex plug)
• Connector B: ST (bayonet-style plug)
• Mode: Full duplex
• Typical applications: Data center patching, intra-building links

How to use

Route the Helos 2m OM3 LC/ST cable through existing cable management or between rack-mounted equipment ensuring bend radius limits are respected. Insert the LC connector into the LC duplex port and secure the ST connector with its bayonet fitting into the ST receptacle until it locks. Verify link lights and test the link with appropriate optical test equipment to confirm attenuation and continuity. Avoid excessive tension, sharp bends or exposure to liquids, and store spare cables coiled without tight loops.

Recommendations

For best performance, use this OM3 cable with transceivers and equipment designed for multimode 50 µm fibre and observe manufacturer-recommended minimum bend radius. Label both ends for easy identification in patch panels and replace connectors showing visible damage or contamination. Clean connector endfaces before installation with approved fibre cleaning tools to minimize insertion loss and reflections.
