Helos kuitu-kaapeli 7,5 m OM3 ST

The Helos 7.5m OM3 ST fibre optic cable is a 7.5 metre duplex patch cable designed for high-speed network connections using multimode OM3 fibre. Both ends are terminated with ST connectors, and the cable uses a 50 µm core diameter multimode fibre suitable for short- to medium-range data transmission with low attenuation and stable optical performance. The product is intended for structured cabling, data centre interconnects and network equipment links where reliable fibre connectivity is required.

Advantages

This OM3 fibre cable provides improved bandwidth over legacy multimode types, supporting high data rates and reduced modal dispersion. The ST connector terminations offer durable bayonet-style coupling for repeated mating cycles and secure connections in patch panels and equipment ports. At 7.5 metres length the cable balances flexibility and reach, allowing tidy routing within racks and between adjacent rooms while maintaining low signal loss.

Suitable for

• Patch connections between switches, transceivers and optical equipment
• Short- to medium-distance links in data centres and server rooms
• Structured building cabling and telecom closets
• Network lab setups and optical testing environments

Key specifications

• Fibre type: Multimode OM3
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: ST to ST (duplex)
• Length: 7.5 m
• Configuration: Full duplex
• Cable jacket: Multimode patch cable (outer jacket suitable for indoor use)

How to use

Connect each ST connector to the corresponding ST port on network equipment or patch panels, ensuring the bayonet-style connector locks into place with a twist. Use one fibre strand for transmit and the other for receive to maintain full duplex communication. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends, crush points and sources of electromagnetic interference; maintain the manufacturer's minimum bend radius for multimode fibre. Verify link status on connected devices and perform an optical test if required to confirm signal integrity.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, keep connector end-faces clean and protected when not in use, use dust caps during storage, and inspect or clean connectors before installation. Avoid exceeding the recommended bend radius and prevent mechanical strain on the cable to reduce attenuation and extend service life.
