Infrapuna-anturi STEINEL IS 180-2

The STEINEL IS 180-2 is a wired infrared sensor designed for fixed wall mounting. The unit has a silver finish and provides motion detection up to 12 meters. Rated IP54, it offers protection against dust ingress and water splashes, making it suitable for semi-exposed indoor and sheltered outdoor locations. Compact dimensions (76 x 56 x 120 mm) and standard mains operation at 230–240 V, 50 Hz allow straightforward integration into existing lighting or security systems.

Advantages

The sensor delivers a reliable PIR detection zone with a long reach of up to 12 m and a compact housing that fits in tight mounting locations. Its IP54 enclosure ensures continued operation in environments with occasional moisture or dust. Wired mains connection supports stable power supply and consistent performance without battery changes. The silver finish provides a neutral visual appearance for discreet installation on walls.

Suitable for

• Entrance halls and stairwells
• Corridors and utility rooms
• Carports and sheltered outdoor walkways
• Lighting automation for energy-saving control

Key specifications

• Detection principle: passive infrared (PIR)
• Maximum detection range: up to 12 m
• Protection rating: IP54 (dust protected, splash resistant)
• Supply voltage: 230–240 V AC
• Frequency: 50 Hz
• Mounting type: fixed wall mount
• Housing finish: silver
• Dimensions (W x D x H): 76 x 56 x 120 mm

How to use

Mount the sensor on a stable vertical surface at the recommended height for the intended detection zone and connect it to the mains supply following local electrical regulations. Aim the sensor so that the expected movement passes across the detection field rather than directly toward the lens to improve reliability. After powering, adjust the connected lighting or control circuitry as required; settings for sensitivity or time delay (if adjustable on the unit) should be set according to the specific installation and occupancy patterns.

Recommendations

For optimal detection, position the sensor to avoid direct exposure to reflective surfaces, heating vents, or strong sunlight. Regularly check mounting seals and cable entry points if installed in semi-exposed locations to maintain the IP54 protection. When integrating with lighting circuits, verify compatibility with load types (LED, fluorescent, etc.) and, if necessary, consult installation documentation or a qualified electrician for safe connection.
