Kuitukaapeli Helos 3 m OM4 SC/SC

The Helos 3m OM4 SC/SC fibre optic cable is a multimode patch cord engineered for high-speed data transmission in professional network environments. It has a 50 µm core diameter and SC connectors on both ends, supporting full duplex communication between compatible devices. The cable's OM4 specification optimizes bandwidth and reduces modal dispersion for reliable performance in data centers, server rooms, and enterprise network installations. The violet jacket provides clear visual identification within cable bundles and racks.

Advantages

The OM4 specification delivers enhanced bandwidth and longer reach for multimode links compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, enabling higher data rates and improved signal integrity. SC/SC connectors provide push-pull coupling with stable optical contact and low insertion loss. The 3 m length balances flexibility with minimal excess, reducing signal attenuation while allowing convenient equipment placement. The violet outer jacket improves cable management by making the line easy to identify among mixed cabling.

Suitable for

• Direct interconnection of switches, transceivers and patch panels in data centers
• Short- to medium-reach multimode links in enterprise LANs
• High-density rack installations requiring easily identifiable patch cords
• Full duplex optical links for storage area networks and server connectivity

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM4 multimode (50 µm core)
• Connector type: SC terminated on both ends (SC/SC)
• Length: 3 meters
• Mode: Multimode, optimized for high bandwidth
• Color: Violet jacket for visual identification
• Transmission: Full duplex optical link

How to use

Inspect connector endfaces for dust or contamination before installation and clean if necessary using an appropriate fibre cleaning tool. Insert the SC connectors into compatible SC ports on network equipment, ensuring secure engagement by the push-pull mechanism. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain the minimum bend radius recommended for multimode fibre to preserve optical performance. For organized installations, label both ends and secure the cable with cable management accessories to prevent strain on the connectors.

Recommendations

Use the Helos OM4 SC/SC cable for intra-rack and inter-rack connections where multimode optical performance and easy identification are required. Avoid tight bends, excessive pulling force, and exposure to contaminants; store connectors with protective caps when not in use to maintain low insertion loss and long-term reliability.
