kuituoptinen kaapeli ShiverPeaks BS07-510115 0,5 m SC vihreä

The ShiverPeaks BS07-510115 0.5m SC Green fibre optic cable is a short OM5 multimode patch cable with SC connectors on both ends and a 50 µm core diameter. Designed for short-reach, high-speed links, this 0.5 m cable supports full-duplex transmission and is intended for use in structured cabling, cross-connections and patching in data centres, server rooms and network racks. The green jacket identifies it as an OM5 multimode fibre suitable for wavelength division multiplexing and enhanced bandwidth applications over short distances.

Advantages

This OM5 fibre cable provides low insertion loss and consistent multimode performance for short-distance links. Its SC-SC connector configuration ensures simple push-pull mating and stable optical contact, while the short 0.5 m length minimises excess slack in dense patch panels. The green outer jacket aids quick visual identification of multimode OM5 infrastructure and helps with organised cable management. Constructed for routine network use, the cable offers mechanical durability and reliable signal transmission in typical data centre and enterprise environments.

Suitable for

• Patch connections between switches, servers and transceivers in data centres
• Interconnecting equipment in server rooms and telecommunications racks
• Short-reach multimode links and cross-connects in structured cabling
• Testing and lab setups requiring standard SC connector interfaces

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM5 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: SC to SC, duplex
• Length: 0.5 m
• Jacket colour: Green (OM5 identification)
• Transmission mode: Multimode, full duplex

How to use

Before connecting, ensure both link endpoints support multimode OM5 fibre and have matching SC receptacles. Remove protective dust caps from the SC connectors and inspect endfaces for contamination; clean with appropriate fibre cleaning tools if necessary. Insert each SC connector into the corresponding port until it seats with the push-pull latch. For duplex connections, align transmit and receive channels according to the equipment’s port labelling. Avoid tight bends and secure excess cable to prevent strain on the connectors and fibre.

Recommendations

Store and handle the OM5 cable by coiling loosely within recommended bend-radius limits and avoid repeated flexing near connector ends. Use labelled cable management in patch panels to maintain clear identification of OM5 links, and perform endface inspection and cleaning during initial installation and periodic maintenance to preserve optimal optical performance.
