Kytkin HUAWEI S220-24P4X — 24 x Gigabit (10/100/1000) RJ-45, 4 x SFP+, PoE, 1U harmaa

HUAWEI S220-24P4X is a 1U rack-mount Gigabit Ethernet switch offering 24 RJ-45 ports with 10/100/1000 Mbps capacity and four SFP+ slots for fiber or 10G uplinks. The unit integrates Power over Ethernet (PoE) to supply power to IP devices such as phones, cameras and wireless access points, and includes an RJ-45 console port for management. Designed for access layer and aggregation roles, this grey switch suits small to medium enterprise deployments that require a compact, rackable device with mixed copper and high-speed fiber connectivity.

Advantages

The switch combines 24 Gigabit copper interfaces and four SFP+ ports in a 1U form factor, enabling both high-density copper connectivity and 10G uplink options without occupying excessive rack space. Built-in PoE capability simplifies deployments of powered devices by removing the need for separate power supplies or midspan injectors. The presence of an RJ-45 console port facilitates on-site configuration and troubleshooting. A compact weight and grey housing make the unit straightforward to install in standard racks and cabinets.

Suitable for

• Small to medium enterprise access layer deployment
• Edge aggregation requiring 10G uplinks to core switches
• PoE-powered IP telephony, wireless APs and security cameras
• Rack-mounted wiring closets and branch office networks

Key specifications

• Ports: 24 x Gigabit RJ-45 (10/100/1000 Mbps)
• Uplink: 4 x SFP+ slots supporting 10G modules or fiber transceivers
• PoE support: PoE on copper ports to power IP devices
• Form factor: 1U rack-mount chassis
• Console: RJ-45 console port for management access
• Color and weight: grey housing, weight approximately 2.92 kg

How to use

Install the HUAWEI S220-24P4X in a standard 19-inch rack using the supplied mounting brackets and secure it at the desired U position. Connect copper devices to the RJ-45 ports and insert SFP+ modules into the uplink slots as required for fiber or 10G connections. Configure basic network settings and PoE behavior via the console port or the device's management interface according to network design. Ensure the switch receives appropriate AC power and verify PoE budget and port assignments before connecting powered devices.

Recommendations

Place the switch in a ventilated rack space and avoid stacking equipment that could restrict airflow. Monitor PoE power consumption to remain within the device's available budget and distribute high-draw devices across multiple ports or powered switches if necessary. Use compatible SFP+ transceivers rated for the switch and follow vendor guidelines for firmware updates and security configuration.
