Kytkin HUAWEI S310-48P4X — 48x Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) RJ-45, 4x SFP+, PoE, 1U rack

HUAWEI S310-48P4X is a 1U rack-mount access switch that provides 48 Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) RJ-45 ports and 4 SFP+ slots for 10Gbps uplinks. The switch supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) to power devices such as IP phones, wireless access points and surveillance cameras from the access layer. A front RJ-45 console port enables local management and configuration. The combination of 48 GbE ports and 4 SFP+ uplinks makes the unit suitable for small and medium business wiring closets, branch offices and campus access deployments.

Advantages

The HUAWEI S310-48P4X delivers dense Gigabit connectivity in a 1U form factor with integrated PoE, enabling centralized power delivery to connected endpoints. The presence of four SFP+ slots provides flexible uplink options for 10G aggregation or connection to servers and distribution switches. The switch’s grey metal chassis and rackable design support standard data center and wiring-closet installations while a dedicated RJ-45 console port simplifies initial setup and troubleshooting.

Suitable for

• Office networks requiring high port density and PoE for phones and APs
• Small and medium business (SMB) access-layer deployments
• Branch offices and campus edge where 10G uplinks are needed
• Surveillance and IP camera networks that need centralized PoE

Key specifications

• Ports: 48 x Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) RJ-45
• Uplinks: 4 x SFP+ slots (10Gbps capable)
• PoE support: integrated Power over Ethernet for connected devices
• Form factor: 1U rack-mountable chassis
• Console: RJ-45 console port for local management
• Colour: Grey metal enclosure

How to use

Mount the switch in a standard 19-inch rack occupying 1U of space and connect power according to site electrical requirements. Attach Ethernet devices to the RJ-45 ports and, if needed, connect aggregation links or servers to the SFP+ slots using appropriate 10G optics or DAC cables. Enable and configure PoE through the switch management interface to supply power to IP phones, wireless access points or cameras. Use the console port for initial configuration and troubleshooting; thereafter manage the device via the supported network management tools and protocols.

Recommendations

For reliable operation place the switch in a ventilated rack environment and ensure PoE power budgets are planned according to the total power draw of connected devices. Use quality SFP+ transceivers or compatible DAC cables for 10G uplinks and follow standard cabling practices to maintain network performance and minimize interference.
