Tarkennuskelkka Novoflex Castel M korkeussäädettävä tarkkuustarkennuskelkka CASTEL-M

The Novoflex Castel M adjustable height precision focusing rack CASTEL-M is a compact mechanical device for controlled vertical displacement during macro and close-up photography. It provides fine, repeatable height adjustments to assist with focus stacking, composition refinement and maintaining working distance. The rack is compatible with common studio or field setups and can be used together with rails and bellows to achieve precise subject-to-lens positioning.

Advantages

The Castel M offers micrometer-like vertical control without electronic components, enabling reliable manual adjustments. Its construction emphasizes stable, vibration-minimised movement and repeatability for multiple frames in focus-stacking workflows. The compact form factor makes it convenient to integrate into both studio and portable macro rigs while preserving access to other camera controls.

Suitable for

• Macro and close-up photography requiring precise vertical adjustments
• Focus stacking workflows to increase depth of field
• Studio and on-location setups where repeatable positioning is needed
• Use with macro rails, bellows, or tripod-mounted camera systems

Key specifications

• Adjustable vertical travel for fine height control
• Manual, mechanical operation for tactile feedback and repeatability
• Stable construction designed to minimise vibration during adjustment
• Compact footprint suitable for integration with macro rails and bellows

How to use

Mount the Castel M between your tripod head or macro rail and the camera or bellows according to your system configuration. Use the adjustment mechanism to raise or lower the camera in small increments while observing the subject through the viewfinder or live view. For focus stacking, record a series of images at successive height positions to capture different focal planes, then merge them in post-processing. Ensure the rack and camera are securely fixed before each exposure to maintain alignment.

Recommendations

Use the Castel M on a stable support and combine it with a reliable macro rail or bellows for controlled focus stacking. Work in live view at high magnification and make small, consistent increments between frames to achieve uniform overlap of focal planes.
